Elegant Side Chair

This chair is my second major re-do, and it turned out beautifully!
After.
I love the history behind chairs, their “life story” if you will, and this chair belongs to a friend of ours from church. She inherited this chair from one of her in-laws. The chair sat in our friend’s basement for years until she decided to take a chance and let me work on it to give it a 2nd life. (J-Thanks for the opportunity!)

Before.
Overall, the bones of this chair were great. The padding and webbing were worn out, and the upholstery was dated- but other than that, this was in excellent shape. I replaced the jute webbing, added an elastic type webbing for the back support, added additional cushioning to the seat, added lumbar support, recovered in the new fabric, and cleaned & polished the wood. Fabric makes a HUGE difference! She chose an elegant, brown and teal fabric for this chair- what a face lift!

Notice the pattern matching happening here! That's not easy stuff!! ; )

This chair now has a new home, moving upstairs to the bedroom….much better than hiding in the dark basement!

AND…Happy Birthday Katie! Keep the pins coming Katie…you’re going to be a TasteMaker soon!! Check out Katie's Pinterest...she has great taste in all things food, home, and style!
